Day Of Caring 2023 – World Day of Caring June 7 is an opportunity for everyone to show care, which is needed now more than ever An initiative of the non-profit organization CaringBridge, this day encourages everyone to give back to those they value and care for. By genuinely asking how someone’s day was, it shows you care and can improve that person’s overall well-being. And in today’s competitive world, someone who truly cares is a blessing
All acts of caring – big or small, are important, but in times of turmoil, caring is what matters most. For example, when someone is dealing with a health problem or a specific medical condition, your support and care can really make a difference. Loved ones need to know they are not alone on this journey. You can learn more about tracking someone’s health and reading stories about others on the CaringBridge website.
Day Of Caring 2023
World Caring Day was inspired by an event in 1997 with the nine-day life of a baby named Brigid. Born prematurely, CaringBridge’s first website was created on June 7, 1997, after software engineer Sona Mehring realized there needed to be a better way for friends and family to be informed about their baby’s health. To coordinate with friends and family online, it allowed them to provide for the needs and comfort of Brigid and her family. It was revolutionary because there were no established social media platforms at the time

That simple act of caring created a domino effect, resulting in the creation of a global network called CaringBridge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting family and friends with loved ones during the health journey and providing ongoing care, comfort and support. In 2021, nearly 45 million people worldwide visited CaringBridge, with 1,900 messages of hope, care and love posted on the CaringBridge portal for loved ones every hour.
In 2022, the idea of celebrating the first World Day of Caring was initiated by Caringbridge. Everyone is invited to inspire others with stories of hope and care and to recognize, thank and celebrate those who go the extra mile to show they care. Stories are shared and can be viewed at www.worldcaringday.org

Caring is love, it’s that simple Showing up for someone, honestly expressing your concern and being kind to them, regardless of prejudice and the nature of the situation, is what caring about someone really means. By default, empathic and sensitive people are kinder to others
